ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Kath Spellman’s debut album ‘Some Songs’ is a perfect introduction to her artistic qualities as a singer and songwriter. Her songs are presented here in beautiful simplicity allowing her voice and lyrics to take centre stage. She accompanies herself on the acoustic guitar, evocatively supported by Sangat Isaacs on bass and Christoph Bosenick on guitar.
The co-operation of these three musicians has created a memorable album of 14 songs, each with its own particular message and individual atmosphere.

KATH SPELLMAN: vocals, acoustic guitar
CHRISTOPH BOSENICK: guitar, tin whistle
SANGAT: bass, guitars on 'Universal Language'

BIOGRAPHY

Kath Spellman grew up in County Clare on the west coast of Ireland. She has since lived and worked in various places in the UK from Aberdeen in the north to Devon in the south. She currently lives in West Sussex.
Kath has a broad spectrum of life experiences ranging from living and working in Camphill Communities for the care of children and adults with learning disabilities, to bringing up her own family and teaching natural voice work.
Her exceptional ability to create soulful, touching melodies undoubtedly originates from her Celtic musical heritage, but the style of her songwriting is unique and personal and therefore difficult to categorize.
Kath enjoys and admires the work of Christy Moore, Eric Bibb, Carole King, Aretha Franklin, Eva Cassidy, Gilbert O'Sullivan and many other artists.
For bringing about the birth of the 'Some Songs' album, Kath is particularly grateful to her husband Christoph Bosenick for his support and artistic contributions and also to Sangat Isaacs for his musical ability on the bass and the guitar and his technical input overseeing the recording and production at the Rockstone Recording Studio at Totnes in Devon.
